  The Prince of Wales offers great food and drinks at a very good price.
  
  The fish and chips are great in size and taste very good. The beef and ale pie is very well done.
  
  This place isn't just lunch and dinner. They offer a great breakfast as well. The traditional breakfast is huge and you can get it with a coffee. You don't have to order a beer in the morning if you don't want to :-P
  
  The place itself is huge with two stories of high top and sit down tables. The restrooms are nice and clean too.
  
  You can't go wrong if you are looking for a meal and pint.

  I visited here on one of the coldest days in Cardiff and had about 3 places in mind to try Welsh food but decided to give this one a try because it was closest to the train station and I was super hungry.
  
  They have a fairly small Welsh menu and I was hoping to try some rarebit but unfortunately they took it off the menu now. So, I had the lamb cawl and beef and cottage pie. The pie was absolutely amazing, one of the best I have had so far. Lamb cawl was mediocre but I didn't have too much expectation from it to begin with.
  
  Everything was very reasonably priced and you can order from the table using their app and have the food delivered at the table which was amazing for a small town like Cardiff.
  
  The place in itself is amazing, its an old movie theater converted to a pub and like other reviewers mentioned they did not tear down the theater but just built the seating around it (good decision). The seating upstairs is more private and gives a good view of the whole theater.

  I am not a very happy bunny as I ordered a gin and normally comes with strawberry I'm a gurl who loves her strawberry HOWEVER I DID NOT RECIEVE THEM but my friend who ordered the exact same drink had not 1 but TWO strawberries and another person on ANOTHER table had strawberries WHERE IS MY STRAWBERRIES!!????!!!!????!!!! P.S DO NOT ORDER THE BUBBLE GUM PINK GIN !

  To preface this review, I never came here to experience the pub atmosphere at night. Instead, I came here in the morning for breakfast.
  
  Atmosphere:
  The Prince Of Wales seems a lot larger and way more spacious than most other Wetherspoons I've been to. However, the decor is just the standard traditional pub look that you would expect.
  
  Customer Service:
  The employees were very friendly and attentive. My breakfast also came out at a decently reasonable time. For those unfamiliar with the system in place at Wetherspoons, you make all orders at the bar, including food and give them your table number. The food then gets delivered to your table. I quite like this system because since Wetherspoons gets typically busy, no need to fail at flagging down a waiter or waitress.
  
  Food:
  I had the Large Breakfast meal, which came with fried eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, hash browns, mushroom, tomato, slices of toast. To be honest, it was just okay - decent but probably not something I'd order again. Essentially the meal tasted a bit stale and forgettable. To be fair, if I was working as a chef I wouldn't put in my all first thing in the morning either and I'm definitely willing to give this place another try, but ordering something else next time.

  Overall, you get a typical Wetherspoons from this place. Cheap food, but nothing to write home about.

  I was in Cardiff from 9PM to 2AM, just stopping through from Liverpool, waiting to catch a bus to London. In this small amount of time, I visited the outside of Cardiff Castle, grabbed a bite to eat at The Price of Wales, and danced the night away at 10 Feet Tall.
  
  I know that The Prince of Wales is basically a J D Wetherspoon restaurant but that didn't really matter to me since I've never really been to one. I guess for my American brethren, it's pretty much their Denny's. I wonder which American visitors did not make the Reese Witherspoon joke. Anyway, I don't know if all J D Wetherspoons are like this, but this was my experience at The Prince of Wales.
  
  They served dinner until somewhat late so this is how I ended up here (everywhere else was closed, except like McDonalds). I honestly don't remember exactly what I ordered but it was under the Welsh section on the menu. It tasted good probably because I was very hungry but it didn't blow me out of the water. With that said, I think it's acceptable to come and grab some food here but you won't be talking about it later on.
  
  The thing I liked the most about this place was the atmosphere. The fact that the United Kingdom is a drinking culture was apparent here with lots of folks drinking and being merry. There were also lots of people in club-gear probably going to a club after pre-partying here. There were lots of security guards so people must get rowdy sometimes. There were lots of the slot machines things along the wall--I put in 5 pounds into one of them and got 0 back (whoops).
  
  So, come here for the atmosphere, drinks, and food. Nothing is going to be the craziest/best experience you've had in the UK, but it'll be a jolly old time being immersed in British culture.
